"Dakota Game Lodge was a great time. The lodge is nice and clean and has everything you could want. There was six in our group and there was plenty of room for everyone. The barn that housed the kennels and game cleaning area was nice, it had sinks, water, cleaning tables, chairs and was also heated. This was great when you are tired and cold from chasing birds all day, you can take care of the dogs and then clean your birds in warmth. We found plenty of pheasants and watched a lot of good dog work pinning them down. The fields we hunted were mostly CRP, food plots and swails and provided cover for a lot of birds. Steve and his family were great and answered any questions we had. They came the first morning and walked us through all the land areas that we could hunt. It was great that we were the only ones on the land during our time there so we could pick and choose where and when we wanted to hunt certain fields. "

"During the first part of December, 2018 we booked a hunt with Dakota Game Lodge for a 7 person hunt. As most of you are aware December is not one of the choice times of the year to book a pheasant hunt but the 7 of us decided it was worth it to try out a new area and lodge for us to hunt at. We found the accommodations for us and our dogs to be one of the best that we have seen. Steve’s team got us into areas where birds were plentiful and for a first time hunt with Dakota Game Lodge we rated it as a success."

"Can't say enough about the great time we had at the lodge hunting this year. We dealt with Steve and Kris from beginning to end and you couldn't ask for a more honest and straight-forward couple to work with. Everything was as promised. The lodge comfortably held our group of 7 adults and 5 children. Steve and Kris were happy to accommodate our extra last minute guests. The heated kennels were plenty large enough to hold our 5 dogs and temperature maintained at the thermostat setting with ease in the arctic South Dakota climate. We had major truck problems about 20 miles down the road while leaving the lodge on the last day. The transfer case on a pickup went out and it wouldn't move at all. We ended up staying an extra few days in another place that they had available. Steve and Kris literally opened their home to our group and helped us in every way that they could, even going to the extra mile and offering more than we asked for. If you're considering a hunting trip in South Dakota, do yourself a favor and put yourself in good hands with the great group at Dakota Game Lodge."
